“Humans can be giants of science, yet dwarfs of Mother Nature” Perspectives: Micro to Macro offers an immersive environment exploring the micro and macro aspects of how individuals and society at large interact with the natural world at varying levels of impact and intensity. In their respective approaches, each artist addresses the complex relationships that exist between humanity, technology, and nature. Video, installation, sculpture, and photography are used to question these connections and visually extend the micro and macro concepts. Natural elements, including branches, plants, worms, and live cultures, bring organic matter into the gallery space to co-exist with – and serve as – art. Throughout the gallery, we ask you to ponder: What is your relationship to our larger shared environment? Where do you place yourself in these narratives?
